Doxylamine, L-Methylfolate, P-5-P & Methylcobalamin

Tablet

This fixed-dose combination provides comprehensive support in pregnancy and nutritional health. Doxylamine Succinate, an antihistamine, reduces nausea and vomiting. L-Methylfolate Calcium supports folate metabolism and fetal neural development. Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (active Vitamin B6) alleviates nausea and supports neurotransmitter synthesis. Methylcobalamin (active Vitamin B12) aids in nerve health and red blood cell formation.

Mechanism

Doxylamine Succinate acts as an H1 receptor antagonist, reducing nausea. L-Methylfolate Calcium provides bioactive folate for DNA synthesis and neural tube development. Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate supports neurotransmitter metabolism and reduces nausea. Methylcobalamin enhances nerve function and hematopoiesis.

Pharmacokinetics

  • Doxylamine: Rapid absorption, hepatic metabolism, half-life ≈ 10 hours
  • L-Methylfolate: Active form of folate, readily bioavailable
  • Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate: Converted from Vitamin B6, long tissue half-life
  • Methylcobalamin: Active Vitamin B12, stored in liver, half-life ≈ 6 days

Side Effects

  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Rare: allergic reactions

Contraindication

  • Hypersensitivity to any component
  • Severe hepatic impairment

Interaction

  • Alcohol and CNS depressants — additive sedation with Doxylamine
  • Levodopa — reduced efficacy with Pyridoxine derivatives
  • Antiepileptics — may reduce folate and B12 levels

Warning and Precautions

  • Use under medical supervision during pregnancy
  • Monitor for excessive sedation
  • Ensure adequate folate and B12 supplementation
